Miss Li Mei arrived home in the 3rd of October 2007, and found herself at Mama Juri's workplace ^_^; As I couldn't wait to open her box..

I was really surprised to see how she was packaged.. Ive only ever received a doll from Angelregion before.. and Shinku didn't arrive wrapped in cushions and in such a pretty box!

I was also surprised to see that she really didnt have any eyelashes. I was toying with the idea of buying her some.. but i think the look is growing on me, and since Im not even brave enough to fix Shinku's broken eyelash I doubt I would be any good at affixing a whole new set. ^^;

I put her in her default outfit for work.. which got some interesting stares from my co-workers ^^; (and one really rude comment which made me sad)I do think that the skirt is maybe a little short though, and when we got home I got Li Mei dressed in her new outfit.

I showed her to my Boss' Boss and he was like "oh, isnt she pretty.. and you know, she'll always be there for you."
and i was like ^_^; heh.

I thought I would take a shot to try and show how different the head molds are..
I was told that tiny fairies were about the same size as little fairs, and they are.. only A LOT slimmer with smaller heads. Shinku's wigs almost fit Li Mei though, and I think if I went any smaller with the size they might not fit. Also my dollheart shoes seem a little roomy too ^^; but I dont think thats going to be an issue.

New dress and a trip to Questacon!

Today I decided to take Shinku with me to work ^^: Ive been wanting to take some pictures of the dress that Lehni made for her, and since I'm always at work when its nice and sunny I thought I would just take the shoot there ^_^

After the trek all the way to Questacon though, the weather took a turn for the worse and I ended up having to take the shoot on a couch in the office ^^:

This is the first dress that lehni has made for Shinku, and I think it came out beautifully!

I also tried to make some hair ribbons! (much easier I know, but Im not as talented as Lehni ^^;)

It was also really fun to take her into work and get all the amusing looks and responses from people ^_^ (you would be surprised how many people when they look at shinku immediately go for an up-skirt shot O_O;) Poor baby girl.

Such a lot has happened in my life since I got my first BJD Shinku, Ive left university got a full time job and moved all the way across the continent... and now that I am settled down again, I think its time to return to the hobby, and about time I made another addition to the family.

Here she is:

Shes a tiny fairy Xiao ^_____^ and Shinku and I are very excited, even though we have no idea what to name her yet ^_^;

Also Miss Lehni made Shinku a beautiful new dress! (sorry about the picture quality, I still haven't figured out this new camera ^^:

I was so excited to see her in something new after all this time.

Anyways, hopefully someone is still reading this journal despite the huge gap in posts T_T and if not then at least Naoki chan can see Shinku's new dress ^_^

In the first set SHINKU is wearing a blue lolita set from dollheart, and her new green glass eyes, also from dollheart. In the second set Naoki's clothes are from dollheart, except the hat.. the boots are also dollheart. SHINKUS attempt at Juri cosplay is a dress from dollmore, and her custom wig is from reve en poupee ^_^

This is the first of a couple of admitedly very late posts.. ^^;
A week or so ago, I took SHINKU on a shopping trip to Hong Kong.. mostly to visit dollheart and avoid paying horrible amounts of shipping ^^:

SHINKU sits in Dollheart.

We were there for three days, of which we spent the better part of one in the shop itself, and the other bits looking for it. ^^:

Dollheart is such a pretty shop, even if it is a little hard to find, the girls in the shop were just lovely, they even tried on all the shoes for me like SHINKU was a real little person instead of a resin one!
We got discounts galore, and still managed to spend over 700 dollars ^^:
ah well we got loads of lovely things. ^_^

Dollheart is all about the shoes, so we ran away with 4 or 5 pairs ^^: I got pictures of all of them but the boots, which will appear on the lovely miss naoki in another post which follows ^_^

Blue dolly shoes. (which match the clothing set I bought, of which the socks can be seen here)

If these came in big people sizes..I would so be there.

And i got these ones cause they looked like space boots ^_^

The wigs were also very beautiful, although i got the impression that the store catered for SD sizes more..
we picked up 4 or so wigs.. two of which were discounted ^^

SHINKU goes blonde,again, but shorter.

and I bought this one because its almost how my hair used to be.. whehn I was a wee lassie... or something ^^:

It was much fun ^^

I even ended up getting a membership card for the store, which is currently with my contact in HK, hooray for discounted dolly shopping in places you dont live.

So I just got my custom wig preview pictures from Reve en poupee, I think they did a really good job on this one.

I realise that a few of you guys wont know what Im on about with the 'Juri hair' thing.. so I decided to post a reference picture.. then realised most of my Juri images are fan-art..

Shinku wants to be a doctor when she grows up ^^

Shinku's favorite part of the con was the Dalek
I loved taking Dalek pics with Shinku.. and I think Im goin to have to get her a Dalek of her own before she starts whinging ^^:

Before the con, mama Juri had been watching a bit too much Rozen maiden, and had decided it would be cute for Shinku and Naoki (miss Cynthia's little girl) to switch eyes ^_^
guess who my favorite rozen maidens are ^^:

I think they looked cute like this, it gave them that extra level of 'creepy' for the convention ^^

Shinku and Naoki had fun up in the hotel room playing with the ponies I had brought along for my panel

And Shinku discovered a love for horse riding ^_^

Now normally, I like to think I take very good care of my little girl.. except for this one time when I submerged her in giant microbes ^^ its important for babies to be exposed to certain diseases.. right??

We took sleeping sickness home with us.. just too cute ^^

Shinku also featured on my 'The cute and the fluffy' panel, and met the guests of honour Mercedes Lackey and Larry Dixon!

Mercedes loved her! and we had a lovely chat about doll collecting that made me want to look up customised barbie dolls.

Shinku returned from the convention with a pet microbe, a love a daleks and a need to say 'WOO' very very loudly. ^^

Minna-san

Last weekend Mamma Lehni and Mamma Juri took me to my first Gengis-con ^_^

I got meet lots of new friends and take my first purikura.For the special occasion,Mamma Juri made me a cute new hat with pink lace.I love recieving new things!I hope my Mammas make me some more new clothes soon.Maybe I will get some more presents at my Welcome Home party ^_^

When we first arrived,Aunty Cindy lost my wig so I was introduced to Aunty Mel with no hair -_-;; Sometimes Aunty Cindy can be quite absent-minded.

I learnt lots of new things at Gengis-con;how to play the piano:

I was very popular;I even got to judge the fan-olympics with Mamma's friend Kitty.

I also met a man called Grant Stone.He was very funny and kind.Apparently he is quite famous in Perth ( he wrote a thesis on barbie dolls) so I was proud that I got to meet him.

Because Trinity College has beautiful scenery my Mamma's took me on lots of photo shoots.I felt like a star!!.. but I guess thats enough for one day ^_-

All in all I very much enjoyed my first con.Mamma Juri says that I will get to go to another one in March,so I am looking forward to meeting more new friends.I would like thank Aunty Cindy for helping me to type this entry.She is very kind when she's not falling asleep.

I couldnt help myself.. she was just there, and I was cooking ^_^

Shinku seemed to like pancakes, just like her mama.
(ok, so I admit I helped with the eating part.. but, what else are mama's for? ^_^)

You may have noticed the headdress.. That took me wayyyy too long yesterday.. and close up it really sucks ^^; *thanks gods for blurred camera images*

Yesterday my AR dana arrived!
I set up the camera.. got the scissors, started to open the box.. only to find my poor baby was a one eyed-amputee!

*sniffles*

When I opened the box, It was clear that she had been moving around quite a bit, several of her restraints looked like they had never held her at all.
On lifting her out of the box, one of her feet promptly fell out into her sock, taking the calf with it.. and she had several dark smudges all over her body.Her birthdate on the ID card was not filled in.
Thinking that nothing else could possibly go wrong.. I removed the bubble wrap from her head, only to see one eye staring back at me T_T poor baby had her right eye inside her skull..

I also noticed a circular rub mark on her bottom lip where there was no colour from the faceup.. she must have been like that when she was wrapped because nothing like that could have happened through the layers of bubble wrap.

I was beside myself, because Iam new to BJD's and had no idea how to get her leg back on... or open her skull cap or anything.
After consulting Jasmineflame (who deserves major hugs) I called Cyndi and Yi for some emergency dolly-surgery.

They couldnt come over..
We ended up at the local lake, in the carpark with shoelaces and dolly bits fixing up baby... we must have been quite a sight.
To end a perfectly awful morning, I forgot blue tack.. and all three stores I checked between my house and the lake had none. I ended up begging a shop-assistant for a bit of used bluetack. ^^:

so yeah.. BJD nightmare.

but as you can see, we did the best we could.. even if we couldnt fix her lips and I think she looks lovely now:

After all that, I had a healthy very pretty new baby.

Everyone.. meet Shinku.

The good thing I guess was that we took Shinku to the park after the 'surgery' in the car.. she seemed to like being out of that box. ^_^ (and Taking camwhore shots with Auntie Cyndi)
